    2024 Go 4th Walk/Run

    The 2024 "Go 4th Mile" run/walk takes place in Longview on July 4th. It is a quick 1-mile walk/run and is on the same route as the Longview "Go 4th Festival's July 4th parade" and benefits HEVIN (Helping Every Veteran In Need) and the CVR Scholarship program!

     

    It starts at the historic Monticello Hotel and finishes near Martin's Dock at beautiful Lake Sacajawea Park. This event is hosted by CVR (the Cowlitz Valley Runners Club), in partnership with HEVIN and this year's sponsors

    Awards: Medals will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. Ribbons will be awarded to the second and third place male and female finishers, and to the first male and female finishers over 50. Plus, we have several random door prizes!! WALKERS CAN WIN TOO!!

     

    There are ONLY 11 DAYS LEFT if you want a 2024 Go 4th Mile Running Singlet (Tank Top T-shirt). They are available when you sign up by JUNE 21st. As always, our event shirts are comfy dry-fit polyester singlets with sublimated printing (no chafing from screen printing!).

    Saturday Run | Weekly

    This Saturday, October 14th, join us at 8:30 AM at the Kelso Red Leaf, 209 West Main Street.

    You can go 5.68 miles or use several ways to cut it short. Come back on 14th Ave. and it's 4.4 miles, come back on 7th Ave and it's 3.76 miles.

     

    Stick around after your run or walk for good coffee, gossip and baked goods.

    The Harvest Classic

    CVR members participate in a variety of running events in SW Washington. Whether you are an experienced runner or just starting out, it is always better with others!

     

    One of the events we are heavily involved with is the Harvest Classic. The Harvest Classic offers a flat and fast course with scenic views of downtown and Lake Sacajawea.

     

    Come set a new Personal Record and have some fun while running or walking a beautiful course, and raise funds and awareness to eliminate hunger in our community.

     

    Parking 

    Participants and spectators must park at the Expo Center parking lot (grass field) south of the Farmer’s Market

     

    Race Course  

    The Harvest Classic begins at the Life Works building at 906 New York Street in Longview.

    If you've moved to our area and want to meet like-minded people or you just want to be social, Run Clubs are one of the best ways to do it.

     

    With time to chat along the route, you might even end up enjoying a post-run drink with your fellow runners.

    Scholarships

    The Cowlitz Valley Runners Club awards two $500 scholarships each year to high school seniors in Cowlitz County.

     

    Applicants must have participated in track and/or cross country on a high school team for at least three years. Applicants will be considered based on character, academic achievement, service and athletic accomplishment.
